Delightful Delicatessen Night

ILV Evening Event for May 2018

A Delightful Delicatessen Night at the beautiful Social Club in M Gallery – Hôtel des Arts Saigon

What better way to celebrate being half-way through the week than by joining your partner and your friends at a Deli and Wine night!

The event was held on Wednesday, 23rd May.

The night included Delicatessen food by Social Club and free flow wine from Elite Wines. A fun time was had by all!

May Outing – Artinus 3D Art Museum

Artinus 3D Art Museum is an interactive art gallery, which gives it visitors a truly wonderful experience in the magic of 3D. This museum has more than 100 different 3D paintings, created by Korean artists. The artworks are created in a way that the visitors can step inside them and be part of some stunning 3D scenes.

After the museum visit, we met for lunch at Q.itchen Factory, an Asian inspired ‘destination dining’ experience in a surprising location!

Everyone had a great time at this outing!

ILV is in the News!

Be sure to check out AsiaLife Magazine to read Elijah Ferrian’s interview with Pärla Salomaa, ILV’s Vice President of Administration.

November Outing – QLM Factory Tour

Wednesday, November 22nd, from 9:00am to 1:30pm

The factory manufactures a vast range of labels: primarily self-adhesive labels (ie stickers) for many companies including Lotte Chewing gum, Enchanteur cosmetics and Bong Mai Foods. They also make soft-fold cartons, garment labels and tags. The variety of products means there is a big range of press capabilities. The factory is modern and climate controlled.

November Outing – Nga’s Laquer Ware Factory

Wednesday, November 15th, from 9:30am to 1:00pm

The lacquer ware process is interesting to see. Nga offered us a 20% discount on purchases. Her lacquer ware is of a high export quality.

November Outing – Vietnamese Cooking Class

On Wednesday, November 8th, at 9:45am, at M.O.M. 39A Co Bac Street, D1, Level 2.

The Terry Fox Run Vietnam is a 5km run/walk that was held at Tan Trao Street in District 7 on Sunday, November 5th. We had a good turnout from ILV members, and will plan for a larger group event next year.

ILV Holiday Bazaar 2017

The ILV Holiday Bazaar for 2017 was a HUGE SUCCESS!

See Below for our list of Amazing Vendors for this year’s bazaar, held at the InterContinental Hotel Saigon, in the Purple Jade. We went to great lengths this year to find vendors with exciting products for home and family, and the feedback from shoppers has been very positive! As well as five charity vendors, there were over forty other vendors, including over 25 new international vendors. At the ILV table, we are happy to report, we sold a lot of Christmas Party tickets and ILV Polo Shirts, and signed up several returning and new members!

Thank you to the InterContinental, our Vendors, our Shoppers, and the fabulous ILV volunteers for your support and help in making this year’s bazaar such a success. Special thanks to Beverley and Jay for helping with logistics, and a tremendous THANK YOU to MARIE for finding such wonderful vendors!

We also visited the Jade Emperor Pagoda, which was built in 1909 by the Cantonese community in Saigon and has statues depicting dieties from the Buddhist and Taoist religions.

We had a wonderful time on this outing! A big Thank You to Mary for setting up this outing, and to Cindy for getting us all together and giving the group such great background information on Buddhism and Taoism. Photos have been posted in the Photo Gallery. Have a look!

June Highlights – Part 3: Workshop on Online Security on Thursday, June 8

Fifteen ladies attended the workshop, which was given by Brian Caleda, Director of iknow. We learned about online security threats, how to identify them, how to get rid of them, and most importantly, how to prevent them from happening in the first place. It was a really good workshop, and we hope to have Brian return for more workshops in the fall. Thanks for sharing your expertise, Brian!
